Is summer flying by for anyone else? We are having a blast and trying to make the most of these glorious days. In Maine, the weather is totally unpredictable and taking advantage of a the sunshine is a must. I tend to keep a bag of essentials packed and ready for fun outings! Here are some of the products I'm loving for these summer days with the kiddos: WaterWipes- Even though both my boys are finally potty trained (yay!) I still take wipes everywhere, esp. on messy summer outings! Melting ice cream, sand everywhere, playground paws, potty on the go (you know the beautiful summer mess I'm talking about). I just discovered WaterWipes and I love them; they are a premier European brand, and chemical free baby wipe that contains only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. No matter how old my babies get I always like finding safer and natural options. I've been keeping WaterWipes stashed in my car, my bags, & under the sink because they're so gentle on their skin, but can tackle their sticky hands mouth and messy bottoms like a charm. Sea Bag- This is the bag that I keep by the door, full of essentials and ready to go. It's so spacious, durable, easy to clean, and up for the challenge of a messy summer, and not to mention nautical and really cute. I use a customer diaper bag b/c its got lots of room and LOTS of pockets to keep all our stuff organized. Ava Anderson Non Toxic Sunscreen- Every summer I find myself searching for a natural sunscreen with a low EWG rating, that actually provides good protection and isn't entirely like rubbing on paste. This summer I started using Ava Anderson Non Toxic's sunscreen and have been very pleased and have been using it pretty much exclusively. SwimZip Swim suit and rashguard- I just discovered SwimZip this year, and can't believe I've been missing out these last few years. Clearly a mom owned company, these suits and rashguards are just plain smart. They offer 50+ SPF sun protection, they are light weight (easy to wear and quick to dry), and the shirts or suits zip up instead of having to struggle to get them over your little one's head. Hooded Towel from ZOOCCHINI- We love these, especially Sherman the Shark. Perfect for when the boys finally run out of the chilly Maine waters. These big towels have a soft jersey lining and are cozy as can be. Swim Zip Circle Towel- I love this because it rolls up easily in your bag and is perfect for an impromptu picnic, lounging at the beach, and pretty much everything in between. Bugaroo Bug Spray from Good Natured Brand- While Maine is spectacular in the summer, we are certainly not without pesky bugs! On many adventures, bug spray is a must, and I love this deet free all natural (and family friendly formula). Good Natured Brand is a mom owned, Maine based company that believes in offering safe, simple, and effective products. Sun Smarties Boy's Flap Hat from One Step Ahead- My boys really only want to wear baseball style hats, which most of the time is fine, but for a long day at the beach or pool, they need more protection and coverage. I love this hat from One Step Ahead, because its affordable (and keeping track of a hat all summer is a miracle), it's stretchy and light fabric that dries quickly, and offers UPF 50+ protection. Kids Scout Stainless Steel Water Bottles from Eco Vessel- These have been fantastic for us. Each of my boys gets their own design which is fun and easy to keep track of. The bottles have been very durable (with standing lots of dropping and wear) and are BPA, phthalate PVC and lead free. Organic Baby Powder from The Honest Company- I don't go anywhere in the summer without baby powder and this one is great, with all natural and soothing ingredients, and talc free. Baby powder continuously saves the day on summer adventures, whether it's getting the sand off, soothing itching skin, or making the change from swim wet swim suit to clothes a little easier, it never fails. What's in your summer bag? I'd love to hear about your must have products perfect for summer outings with your kiddos! Thanks as always for stopping by; enjoy the rest of the summer!! xx
