I never pictured myself writing about potty training.... probably because I never had a real strategy... I waited until my older son showed a real interest. We did M&M's for a while, we stayed around the house for one weekend and he had a lot of naked time, we did pull-ups briefly, lots of fun Thomas the Train underwear (all which helped), but we had accidents, and set-backs, and in the end he was 100% potty-trained when he was ready. It was as if a switch when off and he made up his mind that he was going to use the potty. But the set-backs, the accidents (and oh wait, the peeing on the rug phase) are almost a year behind us, but still very fresh in my mind and my house finally doesn't smell like pee (boys are messy). Thus my lack of enthusiasm that my little guy (not even 2) wants so badly to use the potty. If he was my first, I'm sure I'd be overjoyed and post it on facebook, but I am avoiding it! This week though its become very obvious that he's interested (he's rather relentless in letting me know when he has to go) he's also been pulling underwear out of his brother's drawer. I obviously don't want to discourage using the potty but not sure I'm ready for this. Nonetheless, here I go...back into the throws of potty-training.. I think my strategy this time is going to be pull-ups and watch your brother.....
Any words of wisdom? Sorry for the potty-talk; thanks for listening!
