My kiddos have been back in school for 4 weeks now (time is flying by) - most days it feels good to be back into a routine. Those unstructured summer days seem like a distant memory. We're busy with soccer & flag football games and trying to enjoy my favorite season in Maine. Four weeks in with a 3rd and 1st grader, I thought I share some of my favorite products we're using during these school days.
Contigo Water Bottles
We've been using these for years and swear by them and their ability to NOT leak in the backpack. Ziploc Container Bento We have a lot of bentos in our cupboards and definitely some fancier options, but most of them are heavy and weigh down the kids backpacks. These ziplock containers fit perfectly in their lunchboxes are easy to open and don't add extra weight. Reusable Silicone Baking Cups These are great to use in bento containers if you need an extra divider for snacks. I also use these to make breakfast eggs muffins. Skip Hop Thermos My 6 year is obsessed with having this thermos is his lunchbox (he loves the attached spoon). He's also in a nut free class, so his go-to PB&J isn't an option. His favorite meal is these meatballs in sauce. Lands End Backpack My kids have been using these for the last 2 years. I bought during a 40% off sale at a great price, They're been durable, easy to clean and the kids love that they got to chose embroidery letters and cute images (they chose hockey sticks). Under Armor Game Day Lunch Box I bought this for my 8 year old this year when we were back to school shopping at our local sports store. I had little expectations -I knew he could use a fresh one and he was drawn to the brand, but this may be my favorite lunchbox we've had. Love the harder shell (no smooshing food) and the plastic interior is so easy to clean. My other two have this lunchbox and we love it almost as much. Epic App We've been limiting the boys technology time lately for a variety of reasons, but have found Epic to be a good middle ground. With Epic they get to use a device but are also reading and exploring all kinds of new books - highly recommend checking it out. Smarty Pants Organic Vitamins We do these year round (or intend to) but with school back and a routine in place eating their "gummies" is a nightly ritual. With so much going around already (colds, stomach bugs etc) and so much activity I feel like this is at least one thing we can do to promote a healthy season. Oh Be Little Scratch Chart Okay, full disclosure, I just ordered this today after a wise friend suggested it. So while it may not be a favorite quite yet, I know it's going to be. We've been struggling a bit with my oldest (behavior/attention, interest in school, motivation etc) a wise friend gave me this great suggestion. I'm hoping to use this chart game to get us back on track. I'm not exactly sure how we'll measure the steps (I'll keep you posted) but I'm thinking no complaining/good attitude getting ready for school, report something positive that happened at school and kind words each day will earn a scratch.. work in progress here - open to suggestions :-)
Hope your kiddos are having a good start to their school year. I'd love to hear about any products you love! Thanks as always for stopping by!
