Congratulations to our winner - Heather R.! Welcome, it's day 14 of our Merry From Maine Giveaway Days! I'm really excited to be featuring the Merchant Company today. If you are local, and haven't already, you'll definatley want to pay the Merchant Company a visit. In the heart of the arts district in Portland, it's a handmade arts, crafts, and vintage store, selling the work of over 100 local artisits. Owners (and artists) Jessica, Todd, and Kit, started the Merchant company in 2011 with a fantastic vision. Recently, the three decided to collaborate on their own brand which has a local flavor, featuring long time Maine sayings “Jeezum Crow” and “Wicked Cunnin’”, as well as other well loved designs. These are American made products locally printed on adult t-shirts, kids shirts, baby onesies, hats & bibs, and canvas messenger bags, with more rolling out throughout 2015. To learn more head over to the Merchantco.me and find them on Facebook for all their latest updates, vendors, and products. My husband always talks about the "door yard" in reference to the front yard. He also calls the countertops the "side board". I say "wicked" regularly and it drives my west coast cousins crazy!

I am not from Maine, but I absolutely love when Mainers say sometime along the lines of, "Want to come over for supper?" Supper. I don't think I ever had "supper" before moving to this great state!

I've been in Maine 2.5 years. I thinks it's funny when people say "wicked" and "I'm all set".
