Well I guarantee it won't be our last and surely not the worst, but on Friday we had our first "hockey" injury. Never easy to watch your child get hurt and always a guilty parenting moment. Of course it was my little guy...who hasn't turned 2 yet...and of course he didn't have a cage on his helmet like his brother (lesson learned...he has a cage now)! We had a great time skating with friends until little Calvin fell face first on the ice and sliced his lip (poor kid can't catch a break). Luckily we didn't have to get stitches, just a little drama with a half hour of screaming and bleeding... He's just fine now, but has a pretty good fat lip to show for it and for his 2nd birthday this week! Ironically Joe of 365 Digital Photography was at the rink that day, so we have some great photos to pull out during Calvin's high school hockey days:-) Also including some happier photos Joe took pre-injury :-)
Never fear, Calvin will be be back on the ice today (with a cage on his helmet)! Hoping for an uneventful Sunday skate :-)

OH Poor Cal! That picture is so sad and so sweet all at the same time! I am sure we have a lot more bumps and bruises in our future with these boys!
