Hard to believe, but we are now a party of five, and our little family is complete. Little Walter Willis came quickly, surprising us a couple days before Christmas. He was over three weeks early and little (just under 6lbs) but is doing great and getting stronger by the day. We came home on Christmas day to a house full of family. It might have been a tad overwhelming if this was my first baby, but it was a special Christmas to say the least and the boys loved having so much family around. My friend Carly of Carly Murray Photography was in the room for Walter's birth and I'm so glad we did this. I feel blessed to have these special images of my final birth experience (only wish we had these for the others). I'm happy to report it's been our best transition to date (ending on a high note). The boys are thrilled to have a new little brother, and are being troopers and great little helpers. We're tired and getting used to our new normal balancing baby and our daily routine (today I put my son's hockey skates on the wrong feet, and I'm sure they'll be some stumbling blocks ahead) but we are feeling mighty blessed. I also finally feel at peace that our family is complete. When I'm up with this little guy in the middle of the night, it doesn't seem so bad; it's actually rather bittersweet knowing that all these firsts are for the last time. I'm cherishing every little sound and snuggle. Thank you all for the well wishes and encouragement through these last months. Blessed does not even cover how we feel. We are overwhelmed by all the love and kindness. xx
