I'm secretly hoping my husband is too busy to read the headline on this post and do the math behind the fact that this is my 30th fix. Kidding (kind of).. Truth is a lot has happened in the last couple years of my Stitch Fix habit.. there have been maternity fixes, postpartum fixes, special event fixes, the stay at home mom fix, and it's constantly been a huge help for me in terms of having a wardrobe that I feel good in. For me Stitch Fix has allowed me to feel fashionable and comfortable, and kept me from loosing my sanity and shopping with three kiddos. In this latest box I asked for Fall staples including a sweater, booties, and a pair of released hem jeans and clothes that I could comfortably wear with running around with my kiddos. I'm disappointed that they unfortunately did not have booties or released hem denim in my size right now, but I did get some cute and comfy pieces I would gladly add to my fall wardrobe but (spoiler alert) I did not keep everything. Anyway..what your really want to know.. here's what was in the box for my 30th fix:
Dear John, Kyleigh Straight Leg Jean - $78
At first glance, I thought these were surely going back. I had requested a raw/released hem jean but my stylist Patrice said they didn't have any in my size. Anyway, this is a good case of try it on and with items in your closet before making a quick decision. I'm loving the fit (especially the slight flair in the leg and the somewhat higher rise). This jean also seems quite versatile - it looks great with a pair of sneakers and a flannel or a pair of booties and cargo jacket.
Verdict: Keeping Market & Spruce, Cotulla Button Back Sweater - $58
When you live in Maine having go-to comfy sweaters is essential. This one is fairly plain, a good staple that could go with just about anything. The detail on the back gives it a fun detail that could easily dress it up with black jeans and boots etc. The arms were slightly big on my but I always roll sleeves up anyway.
Verdict: Keeping Street Level, Oria Tassel Detail Crossbody - $58
I'd love to have a good crossbody bag especially is a neutral color like this - honestly I keep going back and forth, but for whatever reason maybe it's the stiffness or the tassels, but while it's cute, I'm not sure it's me.
Verdict: Returning Market & Spruce, Careen V-Neck Dolman Knit Top - $48
This shirt is soft and a good fit, and while I know black and gray are staples, it's not singing to me, and I actually have a similar shirt from a fix a couple years back. I can't buy the entire fix so I don't think this one will make the cut.
Verdict: Returning Just Black, Dolce Bootcut Jean - $78
Just Black has quickly become one of my favorite denim brands thanks to Stitch Fix. They fit like a glove, are comfortable, and at a pretty good price point (IMO). This particular pair has a great rise (not too long which I love), and this dark denim is great to have on hand for fall. I very much wanted to keep this pair, they are the petite length and just a tad too short.
Verdict: Returning
Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?!? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Important to note that not every fix will be perfect, but I noticed a big difference in my fixes when I took a little more time to make requests and be thorough with my feedback. My best tips, use a Pinterest board to pin looks and pieces you love, take your time with your profile and check it each time in case anything has changed, give thorough instructions to your stylist i.e. if you don't want accessories go ahead and say so, and when you find a stylist that gets you, keep requesting her.
