I don't get sick that often but with two toddlers and a busy schedule lately, it was bound to happen.... I'm traveling with the kids on Sunday, so I'm trying everything can to kick this fast! Elderberry, probiotics, echinacea, and right now I'm drinking this Cold/Flu busting smoothie. It's obviously not going to cure me, but it certainly can't hurt to help strengthen my immune system. Here's what it is:
1 can of coconut milk 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice 6 clementines 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1 teaspoon of ginger root 1 cup of loosely packed spinach Juice of a lemon 2 tablespoons of raw local honey 1 cup of frozen pineapple a sprinkle of raw coconut 2 tablespoons of chia seeds Put all the ingredients in your Vitamix or blender and process until smooth. Add ice if you prefer it a little thicker and colder... Keep this on your short list of smoothies and be proactive with your health as the cold season kicks into high gear. Enjoy!
