This time of year tends to be pretty busy with school wrapping up, and my husband racing to do maintenance on his boat and shift his lobster gear around for the summer season, our family outings can be few and far between. This past weekend we were lucky enough to squeeze in a family clamming trip with the four of us as well as my childhood best friend, my mom and step-dad, and a few other friends. The weather wasn't ideal, but the hunt for sea clams can only be done certain times during the year when the tides are extra low, so we took advantage. Moments like this I truly appreciate where I live and the amazing opportunities we have. Seeing the boy' love for the sea, their willingness to get dirty, their connection with their dad, and their budding work ethic is so awesome to witness. Anyway, I wish I had taken more pictures, but I thought I'd at least share what I've got...
A day on the sea in Maine, can't beat it! Now off to shuck, grind, and freezer pack the clams... recipes to come! Thanks as always for stopping by and letting me share!
